At Excedesoft we have operated under three different hiring modalities.

 

Fixed Bid: The client presents a project, an exhaustive definition of scope is made, and an estimate is given for time and costs. Excedesoft assumes the responsibility for working within the agreed timelines and price. This hiring model is very beneficial for both parts when it is relatively simple to define the scope of the project and it is possible estimate the development effort with confidence. Is not the best model when one of these two dimensions is complex.

 

Time and Material: The client presents the project, the necessary effort is estimated and a team is assembled. The client receives a progress report on the status of the project every week (both a report and the product itself) and defines what needs to be done the following week. The scope of the project is defined by the client and the team can be increased or diminished according to the client's desires. Excedesoft will charge a fixed price for the members assigned to the project. This scheme has the advantage that the client has total control over the development and is able to change the project scope without change order negotiations. This approach has the disadvantage of not potentially not knowing exactly what are we going to get done and when.

 

Staff Augmentation: In this model Excedesoft provides an offshore workforce to a client who already has their own team. The project management, scope, assignment of tasks and reports are the responsibility of the client. Excedesoft acts as an extension of the client’s development team.
